What’s Up Wednesday – 6/26/19

Happy Wednesday! We are officially in summer mode and I’m loving it! I am linking up with Shay and Sheaffer to share what’s up in our summer month.
Let’s get to the questions!

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…
Monday – Low Country Boil (Delicious!!)
Tuesday – Baja Citrus chicken, Brussels sprouts, and cucumbers from our garden
Wednesday – I’m not sure, maybe tacos or quesadillas?
Thursday – I’m not sure, maybe pizza?
Friday – Pasta party at the pool
Saturday – Party at the pool
Sunday – Crabs on the deck

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…
All the 4th of July fun! We’ve spent a bunch of them at the beach.

WHAT I’M LOVING…
Sweet, sweet summertime!! We’ve only had a week since school ended and a few days since I finished up my work days, but this summer schedule is divine! We’ve pulled two all dayers at the pool, with a few more in the plans.

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
We’ve been watching lots of baseball especially our all star and tournament runner up.
We’ve been cheering on our golfer who’s headed to the next round of the Drive, Chip, and Putt tournament.

We’ve been cheering on our swimmers!

I’ve been running! Day 900 was last week!!
We went to Deep Creek Lake for an overnight with Jeff’s family. We packed a bunch of fun into our time!
I’ve been spending some time in my favorite pool spot with my books and my girls. We started our pool book club and the first meeting was great. Our next book is Summer of ’69 by Elin.

WHAT I’M DREADING…
Nothing!! It’s summer!! Actually, I take that back. I am dreading one thing. After the 4th of July, Jeff always says summer is over half over. And for him, it kinda is. Sports usually end mid-May and pick back up in early August. So by July 4th, his summer is over half over. My summer, however, is just getting started and it stresses me out a little bit the first time he says that. That’s all I’m dreading.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
I am working on a few things for the pool – getting ready for our August members, our book club, and some swim team things. I am putting some last minute things together for our next vacation. That’s really about it.

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…
I’m getting really excited for our next vacation. We usually go to the beach for the 4th of July, but not this year. Jack picked our destination and I’m excited to head somewhere new. We are heading back to the beach at the end of the month and I am looking forward to trying something new with the boys.

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
I’m not watching much because I’ve been reading a bunch. We’ve been watching the Braves games lately. They’ve been pretty exciting! As I type this, I am catching up on the Beverly Hills housewives. The Housewives are my guilty pleasure.

I’ve been reading a bunch. This week I finished two books and give both of them 5 ☀️! That is a great reading week! I finished A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams. I picked this book up last summer when I met Beatriz at Bethany Beach Books. This book is the story of two college friends – Lily and Budgie – and their boyfriends – Nick and Graham. It takes place in Seaview, Rhode Island in the 1930s. Years after college and estranged, Lily and Budgie have to figure out how to navigate being in their childhood summer town. Nick and Graham are still involved in their lives, in different capacities, and complicate their attempts to rekindle their friendship. It is a great story of friends, foes, and how love always wins.

I also read Sunset Beach by Mary Kay Andrews. I loved this book!! MKA’s books are such fun reads. This one takes place on the west coast of Florida. Her descriptions of the sunsets, the coastline, and the cottage make me want to hop on a plane immediately! Drue Campbell is down on her luck when her mother passes away and her estranged father shows up at the funeral. He tells her that she has inherited her grandparents’ cottage in Sunset Beach and offers her a job in his law firm. She’s not thrilled about it but has no other option. While answering calls from people trying to sue businesses and get rich quick, she stumbles across two unsolved murders. Drue can’t help herself and decides to investigate. If she’s not careful, she may end up getting murdered herself. This is a great beach read with a little suspense and fun. My plan for the next month is to enjoy these summer beach reads.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
A bunch of country music, island music, and splashes in the pool.

WHAT I’M WEARING…
Title Nine bikinis, running clothes, and pajamas on repeat. I’ve also been loving my new flag sneakers and monogram necklaces!!

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
I am super excited about this weekend! We are going to pull an all dayer at the pool on Saturday. The boys have a swim meet in the morning and we’ll stay through the evening. My mom’s birthday is on Sunday. We are going to see Elin Hilderbrand talk about her new book. Then, we’ll have her favorite dinner – crabs on the back deck! Delicious!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
All the summer time! Pool, beach, swim meets, reading, golf, and all the fun!

WHAT ELSE IS NEW…
Oh, I can’t believe I almost forgot. I am headed to the Mix Tape tour next weekend! I am so excited to see NKOTB and all of the others. It’s going to be a blast!

Have a great week full of sunshine and books!!
