Friday Favorites – 6/21/19

Happy Friday!! This is the best kind of Friday! It is the first day of summer!! It is National Wear Your Lilly Day!! It is my last extra duty day!! I am linking up with Narci and the girls for Friday Favorites and I’ve got some good ones today!

Favorite 1 – GOLF!! Jack competed in the first round of the Drive, Chip, and Putt competition this week. This was his second time and he did such a great job!! He won putting for his age group. He came in second overall in his age group and is moving on to the next round in Virginia in August. He was pretty excited and is anxious to get back to the golf course to keep practicing. After very quietly cheering on his brother, Luke wants to try it next year.

Favorite 2 – RUNNING!! Wednesday was my 900th day in my run streak. On each hundred day, I run that many miles so Wednesday was a 9 miler. I got up early to get 6 in before my teacher work day and had a few girlfriends meet me to finish out the last 3 in the evening. I’ve been training to be able to run 9 miles and not feel terrible afterwards but I was still pretty happy to have some friends there to keep my going in those last miles.

Favorite 3 – FLAG SHOES!! I love my Brooks flag shoes from last year and was looking forward to the new ones this year. I picked them up on Wednesday (perfect treat for day 900) and they are super cute. They are definitely a little more understated than last year, but they’re still cute. I am a little worried about keeping the white clean, but that won’t stop me from wearing them.

Favorite 4 – BASEBALL!! Luke played in the all star game for his league on Saturday. He did such a great job hitting, pitching, and playing in the field. His team won and everyone had a blast! That may be Luke’s last baseball game. He’s loving playing lacrosse in the backyard and I think the fast paced game may be just right for him. We’ll see.

Jack’s team just won their first game in the end of season tournament. He pitched in the last inning and did a great job! His hitting was pretty spectacular, too. It has been a pretty great baseball week for the Parsons brothers!

Favorite 5 – MONOGRAMS!! One of the Instagrammers that I follow wears the best monogrammed necklaces. I have had my eye on them for a while. She gets them from CorasDen on Etsy. I was thrilled to see that she was having a sale last week and decided to order. I love how shopping with Etsy is supporting a person and not a giant company. I love my new monograms – a keychain and 2 necklaces – and the cute packaging it came in!

Favorite 6 – SUMMER SWIM!! Summer swim team season started with time trials on Saturday and our first meet is tomorrow. I love summer swim team. It is all about the fun and the kids have a blast. They work hard and the parents have fun, too!

Favorite 7 – POOL!! Even though I’m still working, we have been getting some good pool time in. Last Friday was Ladies’ Night. It was a little chilly making it the perfect weather for a chambray shirt and white jeans. My friend gifted me these fabulous flamingo earrings and I think they really made the outfit!

Favorite 8 – LAST DAY!! Tuesday was our last day of school! I love the pictures I get of the boys with their teachers because everyone is so happy! They had some great teachers this year and I couldn’t be happier with how their years went.

I am so ready for the slower days of summer! I can’t wait to finish A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams. It’s super good and I’m anxious to see what happens to Lily, Budgie, Nick, and Graham. Summer is my prime reading time. I have more time and my favorite books come out for the summer. I’ll be sharing my thoughts on my Summer Beach Reads as I finish them, so stay tuned! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
