Happy Friday! We had a great week and I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites.

Favorite 1: GOLF!! We joined the golf club that sponsors the boys’ after school golf club and finally got out to play this week. We had a bunch of fun and the kids did really well. I haven’t played any golf since before Jack was born 10 years ago and I didn’t really play much then. So we didn’t keep score and concentrated on having fun and trying to make good contact with the ball.

Favorite 2: POOL!! The pool officially opened and we swam all weekend. I had a swim team meeting and am getting really excited for school to end so we can get into full summer mode!!

Favorite 3: SPELLING BEE!! Jeff and I love to watch the Scripps National Spelling Bee. The kids are so smart and the suspense is riveting!!

Favorite 4: JENNY COLGAN! I love Jenny Colgan’s books. I just started and ARC of her newest book, The Bookshop on the Shore. I am so excited to revisit the characters from The Bookshop on the Corner. I best describe Jenny’s books as a cozy trip to the British Isles. Sometimes they are a little long, but I always end up loving each story. She also wrote The Little Beach Street Bakery series and Cafe by the Sea/Summer at the Seaside Kitchen. Some of her books have 2 titles – one in the UK and one in the US so it gets a little tricky sometimes.

Favorite 5: HEART!! We had one of my favorite presentations at school today. I used to teach with my friend Pat and she has taken her show on the road. She brings a cow heart to school, complete with the lungs and esophagus and does an amazing job teaching students about the cardiovascular system. My kids got picked to help with the programs for their grades. (It helps to know people sometimes 😉). They both came home raving about it.

Favorite 6: CONCERT! Jack had his spring concert at school this week. He has been practicing almost every day and did so well! I can’t wait to hear how he continues to grow in his trumpeting!

I shared what we’ve been up to lately on Wednesday. Looking forward, we have a fun weekend planned with 3 baseball games and some pool time. I am hoping to get some good reading done because I am behind on my magazines – Real Simple and Good Housekeeping have been calling my name. I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
