Hello Monday – 4/15/19

Happy Monday!! We had a great weekend! I am linking up with Heather and the girls to say Hello Monday!

I finally felt all the way better on Friday and ventured out with the boys to do some errands after school. We needed a new toilet seat and the boys decided to try some out before we got ours. They were too funny!

Jack’s baseball practice was cancelled due to the rain so we met my mom for dinner and went to the local high school play. Our high schools do an absolutely amazing job. The kids are so talented! They can sing, dance, act, and we love their shows!! This spring they performed Newsies. I was SO EXCITED!!!! Annie and I wore out the VHS tape of Newsies the movie when we were little. They play is a little different, but it was fabulous!! I have been singing the songs all weekend!

I got up early to meet Jodi and Erin to run the Sole of the City 10k in Baltimore. A lot of runners do a flat lay of their outfit for the next day, usually all laid out so you can see the whole outfit, the big, and any accessories. Here’s mine:

It’s a clump. I was just hoping that it wasn’t an indication of how the run was going to go. 😂 I only ran one mile a day since Sunday because I’d been sick. As the race went on, I could tell that I hadn’t run any distances close to 6 miles recently. I ran a good 5k, a pretty good 5 miler, and then I finished. Mile 6 was TOUGH! It was pretty much all uphill and I was tired. We had a great time!

While I was running, Jeff took the boys out to the farm where we get our meat. Each spring we buy a quarter of a cow. The kids got to pet cows and spend some time on the farm with Jonathan, the farmer I went to high school with, and his animals. Needless to say, our freezer is stocked!

Baseball was cancelled because of all the rain the night before so we had a whole day with nothing to do! Jeff and I got some things done around the house and relaxed. The weather was ☀️ beautiful ☀️! The kids played outside all day.

On Sunday, we went to church and then came home to get ready for sports. Luke had a soccer game. He played well and got to be the captain at the beginning of the game!

Then we headed to Jack’s baseball game. Jack’s age group plays double headers on Sundays. Jeff went to the first one and Luke and I joined them for the second. Jack played really well! They didn’t win but he was pleased with how he played! There are a few brother sets that play on Jack’s baseball team and Luke’s soccer team. The little brothers apparently didn’t have enough soccer time at their game and kept playing at the baseball game.

After sports, we came home and Jeff grilled some delicious steaks on the grill. It was the perfect way to end our weekend. I hope you have a great week full of sunshine and books! We have 4 days of school and I am looking forward to being at work for all 4 of them.

We bought our first 1/4 cow last February and just LOVED it! Sadly, we can’t seem to get a hold of the guy to buy anymore… though I am on the lookout for someone else locally. It was some of the best tasting meat we’ve had.
