Friday Favorites – 3/29/19

Whoa! That was a week! I am just so happy it’s Friday! The week wasn’t bad, but it was extra busy even by Parsons’ standards. I had all intentions of writing 2 posts about our Florida trip, joining What’s Up Wednesday, and another life lately post and that just did not happen!! I had an extra event every night this week in addition to our regular practices and wasn’t home until almost 9 each night. All I can say is thank goodness Jeff had some flexibility and my mom is home and willing to help us out!

I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites this week. I am pretty sure my most favorite favorite of the week will be 6:30 Friday evening when we are home from swim team, in our pjs, and done for the day!

Favorite 1: SUNSHINE!! It hasn’t been super warm this week but it has been pretty sunny! And today is supposed to be even sunnier and warmer! I love the sunshine and longer days that come with spring! I was able to run outside two times this week and it felt so good!

Favorite 2: THIS OUTFIT! I was nominated for as an outstanding teacher in my county this year. The reception and awards ceremony was this week and I love this outfit. Nothing is new but it felt springy but still warm enough for the evening cool.

Favorite 3:MEETING AUTHORS!! As you know, I love meeting authors. Any my local bookstore is amazing at bringing some of my favorites to town. Just this week they announced that 2 of my favorites are coming!! Dorothea Benton Frank AND Elin Hilderbrand will be here in June. I have met them both but I can’t wait to see what they have to say about their newest books!

Favorite 4: FUNNY BOOKS! I picked up Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella’s book I’ve Got Sand in all the Wrong Places. It is a collection of real life moments from their lives and it was so funny! I loved it! Lisa is coming to town in April (hello amazing bookstore!!) and I wanted to read her books before I meet her. Debbie, the bookstore owner, told me that I would enjoy her evening. I am going to read one of Lisa’s solo novels soon. It’s more of a suspense novel, so we’ll see how it goes!

Favorite 5: SWIMMING!! I was a year round swimmer for 10 years and I still love the thrill of swim meets, the smell of indoor pools, and the excitement of a good swim! So my weekend was pretty perfect when I spent 16+ hours poolside cheering on my kiddos!!

Favorite 6: REMINDERS! I got a page-a-day calendar this year for the first time in a while. This one is right up my alley with its bright colors and positive messages. This was one of the recent pages and I love it.

That’s it for today! We have a fun weekend with a baseball tournament for Jack and 2 soccer games for Luke. We are also celebrating Jack’s 10th birthday!! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!!

I love that pink cardigan! What a great library with wonderful programming. My mother was a librarian so I love supporting libraries and they have so much to offer!
I grew up a swimmer so I completely understand your feelings regarding a swim meet. Nowadays, I mostly swim in outdoor pools which is not the same environment. Jess at Just Jess
