Hello Monday – 3/24/19

Happy Monday! We are really back to reality with a full five day week of school. I think the Parsons are ready for our spring time routine and some sunshiny weather to play outside in. I am linking up with Heather and the Hello Monday girls to share our weekend.

We started our weekend ready to cheer on our home team – Go Terps! – in the NCAA tournament. Great news, they won!

I tried out some new leggings from Old Navy. They are my favorite length (7/8) and have some mesh in them. I was a little skeptical, but they are comfy and the mesh really does make it a little cooler.

I pretty much had one view for the rest of the weekend:

Luke and Jack both had a swim meet this weekend. Luckily, they swam in the same location. Unluckily, they were in different sessions. So I spent seven and a half hours on the bleachers on Saturday. It was a long day but I loved every minute of it! Jeff brought Jack over for the end of Luke’s swim and then took Luke home. Then he came back for the end of Jack’s session and we went to a yummy dinner. Mama doesn’t cook after sitting at a swim meet for 7.5 hours.

Before:After:Also after the meet. These are two happy swimmers!!!

On Sunday morning, after church we did it again. The only difference was that on Sunday, we started 30 minutes earlier and went about 30 minutes later. Eight and a half hours later:

Do you see that proud mama look in my eyes?? I love swimming and watching my boys have that much fun makes it even better!

I finished one book and almost finished another.

I finished The Husband Hour by Jamie Brenner and I really liked it. It fit right in my favorite genre – women’s coastal fiction – and it passed the time perfectly at the swim meet. Lauren Kincaid is the widow of an American hero. Her husband Rory was an ice hockey star that decided to join the military and was killed while deployed. After Rory dies, Lauren retreats to her family’s beach house and disconnects from anything in her life for years. Her mother, father, sister, and nephew are moving into the beach house and Lauren is not happy. She’s grown accustomed to her routines and solitary life. Each family member has something they are hiding from the family and I loved the way the family worked through everything. Jamie Brenner definitely saved some surprises for the end of the story. My only complaint is that I wasn’t ready for the story to end. I want to know what happens next! I give it ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ ☀️! Go read it!

The next book I started is I’ve Got Sand in All the Wrong Places by Lisa Scottoline and Francesca Serritella. I picked it up at the library because Lisa Scottoline is coming to our bookstore next month. This book is a collection of funny, true stories that go back and forth between Lisa and her daughter, Francesca. It is a quick read and I am enjoying it. I’ve done a little investigating and found out that Lisa Scottoline writes mysteries/thrillers. I’m not sure if I am going to go see her, but we’ll see. It depends on how that week is going.

That’s about it for the weekend! I hope you have a great week full of sunshine and books!!
