Friday Favorites – 3/22/19

I’m baaaaack! Happy Friday everyone!! This jump back into reality has been quite an adjustment for the Parsons! I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites.

Favorite 1: SUNSHINE!! The sunshine was my absolute favorite this week! We had so much fun in the sun on our trip to the sunshine state.

The sun has been creating beautiful sunrises and I can’t get enough of them! ❤️ Don’t worry, I wasn’t driving when I took any of these.

Favorite 2: FAMILY!! We got to spend some time with my sister on Friday and Saturday. We were at the Players Championship all day on Friday which was great because we we had some time to catch up and talk.

Annie and Zach invited the boys to the golf tournament for their birthdays and Jeff and I were thrilled to tag along!

My parents gave Jack and Luke tickets to two Orioles spring training games for Christmas. It turned into a great family vacation and some good quality time with my parents!

Favorite 3: AUTHORS!! If you’ve been here for a little while, you know I love to meet authors. I am so lucky to have such a fabulous bookstore in our town that brings a ton of authors to meet the readers. Earlier this month I got to meet Kate Quinn. She was fabulous!!

On Wednesday, I got to meet Harlan Coben! I love love love his Myron Bolitar series and was over the moon excited to meet him, even if it meant going out the night after we got home from vacation. He was so funny and gave great insights into how he develops his characters and stories. I can’t wait to read his new book!

Favorite 4: THE BEACH!! I love the beach. It is our family happy place. On Monday, we got to go to Siesta Key. It was beautiful!! The boys were excited to see and swim in the Gulf of Mexico for the first time. I was was excited to get back to Siesta Key and that powdery white sand. Siesta Key has been voted America’s Best Beach in years past and it deserves it. We had a mostly cloudy day on the beach but that didn’t stop our fun!

Favorite 5: GREAT TRAVELERS!! Our Florida trip included two flights, both delayed, and driving totally across the state from the Atlantic Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico in almost 5 hours. The boys couldn’t have done a better job. I am so thankful that they are great travelers because we have a bunch of trips planned. I want to see more of our country and the world and we are taking them with us.

Favorite 6: BREADBAKE!! Every year our second graders get to do the breadbake. It is an in-school field trip where every student makes a loaf of bread from scratch. The kids are so cute and excited! The bread they make is delicious and we’ve made it a few times since Jack got to do it 2 years ago. If your kiddo has the opportunity to do a breadbake, do it!! We love it!!!

Favorite 7: STATIONARY!! I love pens, pencils, notebooks, notecards, and everything that goes along with it. I am a total sucker for the Erin Condren seasonal surprise boxes. I was so excited when my spring box came. I loved everything in it!! I haven’t used many stickers or any tape in my planner, but this box may inspire me to.

That’s about it for the week. We have a busy but exciting weekend coming up. Both boys have swim meets, different sessions of course, and Luke has a soccer game. I love to watch them swim and swim meets mean a lot of good reading time for me – it’s win win! Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
