Friday Favorites – 2/15/19

Happy Friday! It was a short school week, but I am still happy to see Friday!

I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: SNOW DAYS!! We had two snow days this week. We got together with friends both days and the kids had a blast! I don’t know what took me so long to realize that getting together with friends makes snow day so easy!! The kids have fun, I get to read without interruption, and no one asks for TV or iPad time. Does it get any better than that? NOPE!

Favorite 2: FRIENDS!! In the past week, we have spent a lot of time with our friends. We’ve been to soccer and basketball games, dinners, and those snow days. The boys watched a great high school basketball game on Friday night, even though our team lost. I think we may even go back to cheer on the Lions tonight!

We celebrated our good friend Sandra getting ready to turn 40.

Jack and Luke both got to play with their buddies on the basketball court and soccer field.

Favorite 3: BOOKS!! I loved You’ve Been Volunteered by Laurie Gelman and I am loving The Southern Side of Paradise by Kristy Woodson Harvey. It is a great family story and you know I LOVE family stories! This is one of those books that I can’t wait to finish, but I also don’t want to finish because then it is over. Tricky tricky! I shared and rated my recent reads on Tuesday, check it out.Jack and Luke have a swim meet this weekend which means lots of reading time for me! Woohoo!!

Favorite 4: VALENTINES!! I loved celebrating my valentines yesterday! We had a real life Valentine’s Day, meaning we had 2 basketball practices and Jeff had to work late because his school was in the ice hockey championship so we celebrated over breakfast. We always get the kids books. They look forward to them every year. This year I picked these:

I went on a blind date 😉.

I am loving my Valentine’s Day nail polish. It’s a pale pink with a lot of sparkle and shine!

Favorite 5: RUNNING!! I have been taking a lot of classes at the gym which means a lot more one mile run days. Don’t get me wrong, I am loving the classes, but I am really missing the way a run feels. I ran 3.5 miles yesterday and felt pretty good. My Declare It Day Goal was to run a 10K, 10 miler, and a half-marathon so I better get my booty running those miles. I also have day 800 coming up (March 11, I think). I usually run one mile for every 100 days, so 8 miles is coming at me pretty quickly. I have a 5K next weekend and the nickname for the run is “Kill the hill!” That might be a little tough given my extensive treadmill running lately. Hopefully today will be a little warmer and I can get outside to run during the boys’ swim team practice.

That’s about it for the week. We have another sporty weekend coming up and more wintery weather in the forecast, which means lots of reading time for me – WOOHOO!!

Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

I am dying for the Simple Side of Paradise to come out; I loved the other two novels in the series and can’t wait to hear how it ends for this family. We haven’t had a single snow day yet this year; I can’t believe you had two in one week!
