Friday Favorites – 12/7/18

Happy Friday! After Thanksgiving break, the 4 five-day weeks until Christmas break seemed endless and now we are already half way through!! I am loving every minute, but it’s going so fast! We have a bunch of Christmas fun to squeeze into the next 18 days! I’m linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: CHRISTMAS CANDY LANE!! We made our third annual trek to Hershey Park for their Christmas Candy Lane. This was the first year that any big roller coasters were open because it was warmer than 38 degrees. Our group was smaller this year and the park was more crowded this year, but we still had a ton of fun! The hot chocolate is AMAZING! The Christmas music played all day keeps you jolly. The rides are so thrilling. Santa and the reindeer are there. This is one of those Christmas traditions that I will do with a great big smile as long as our boys want to go.

Favorite 2: BOOKS!! I have been reading some great Christmas books lately. A Likely Story, my local bookstore, hosted a Penguin Random House Publisher’s Book Talk on Wednesday and it is one of my favorite events. Twice a year three representatives come and talk about the books that have been published recently. I always walk away with a ton of books to add to my To Read list. And at the December book talk they share a gift grid that has around 40 categories with 5 books in each. It is a treasure and a great way to find books to share!!

Favorite 3: SUNSHINE!! The sun has been shining lately and that makes me so happy. It hasn’t been very warm, but at least it is beautiful! These sunrises are one of my favorite things to see as I pull into my parking spot at school! These pictures are without any filters, just using my iPhone!! 😍☀️

Favorite 4: CHRISTMAS SHOES!! I bit the bullet and bought myself some Christmas sneakers for my 700th day treat. I have been running in them all week and they are so comfy. They are part of my after school uniform lately – leggings, tank top, longer quarter zip/sweatshirt, puffer vest, Christmas sneakers. It’s perfect for getting stuff done around town and still looking kinda cute. These sneakers rounded out my perfect trifecta of Christmas shoes.

Favorite 5: RUNNING & EXERCISE!! Saturday, December 1st was my 700th consecutive day running. I have been upping my running distances and time exercising since Thanksgiving. As part of my Fellow Flowers Holiday Challenge and my Zooma Holiday Challenge, I need to do at least 30 minutes of exercise every day and some self-care added in, too. So, one mile doesn’t cut it anymore. I always feel so much better after my 30 minutes. It’s great for stress relief and clearing my head. I’ve been adding in stretching and my body is so thankful for that!

Favorite 6: AMAZON!! Amazon has been shipping boxes my way just about every day lately with gifts, saving me endless trips to the malls/stores. I love the ease of Amazon Prime. I also listen to Amazon music at work all day long. When I am not teaching, I am listening to Christmas music on Amazon. These two Prime stations have been playing nonstop lately.

Favorite 7: THIS COVER!! I had some insider points to use at Erin Condren and found this poinsettia planner cover. I loved it and knew I had to have it! Nothing says Merry Christmas planning like a Christmasy cover!!

Favorite 8: SANTA! We haven’t seen Santa officially yet, but we did find him on the fire truck. Our town’s fire department brings Santa around for an entire week to hit all the neighborhoods. We missed him in our neighborhood this year, but we crashed a friend’s house and got to see him.

I am really looking forward to this weekend! Luke has a swim meet and Jack has a basketball game. We have some Christmas fun with friends and family. It’s going to be wonderful! I hope you have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!

Oh my goodness, I haven’t been to Hershey Park since I was little. The pictures brought back such memories, and look at the smiles on those sweet kiddos! Also, I LOVE your Christmas sneakers! Please tell me you’ll rock those all year long because they’re awesome!
