Hello Monday – 10/22/18

Happy Monday everyone! We had a fun long weekend and I can’t wait to share it with you! I am going to spread it out over a few posts this week because its a TON of pictures and we squeezed a lot into our weekend in Florida and Maryland!  I am linking up with Heather, Lindsay, and Johannah to say hello to Monday!

We started our weekend a little early and hopped on a plane with my mom to go visit my sister in Jacksonville. The boys are great travelers and were great on the flight! We got to my sister’s house and hung out a bit until she got off work.  Then we headed over to the beach for a little bit to put our toes in the sand.  It was WINDY but warm, sunny, and beautiful!

I come from a long line of golfers.  My parents golf, my grandparents lived on a Pinehurst course and golfed tons, and my other grandfather golfed too.  Jeff comes from avid golfers too. His parents golf, his grandparents golfed, and Jeff golfs.  So, my boys are destined to golf.  And they love to.  So, we arranged for a tour with a storyteller at TPC Sawgrass.  The storyteller took us around the clubhouse and course.  She explained the story of how TPC Sawgrass came to be and lots of interesting things that have happened there.  This golf course is the home of The Players and the PGA has their home on the grounds.  The clubhouse is beautiful!

When a player wins the tournament, they donate the club they thought helped them the most to the club.  It was pretty cool to see/touch actual clubs that belong to PGA players.  We went into the Champions Room. This room is reserved for the previous year’s winner to use during the tournament.  Their family and friends can hang out there while at the tournament.  Jack proclaimed that we will be hanging out there one day because he wants to win The Players one day.

We went into the President’s library where they house the trophy for the President’s Cup tournament.  That is a tournament played in odd years that is USA vs. everyone in the world except Europe.  The boys were pretty excited to see that trophy!!

We headed out to the upstairs balcony and got a gorgeous view of the 18th hole on the Stadium course.

After that, we headed out on to the course.  We went to 16, 17, and 18. 17 is the famous island green hole and 16 and 18 are pretty impressive too.  The boys and I would’ve loved to get on the 17 green but they were over-seeding and we decided it would be best to leave the green to the players that were paying $500+ to play a round of golf.

Then we headed to happy hour/snacks.  The bar and dining room are gorgeous.  The patio is overly too but it was wet from a rain shower.

No trip is complete without a trip to the pro shop.  We picked up a few things for souvenirs and gifts.  They keep The Players trophy in the pro shop.  Zach hopped in a picture with the boys in front of the trophy.

We had a great trip to the golf course and Jack and Luke have added it to the courses they want to play!

I’ll share the rest of our Jacksonville fun tomorrow and my Zooma experience on Wednesday.

We came home late Saturday night so we had a full day on Sunday.  Jack had a baseball scrimmage and played well! He got some great hits, toughed out being hit by a pitch, and played some positions he’s been wanting to try.

I am very excited about today! I have Karma Wilson coming to my school bright and early to talk to our students about reading, writing, and her Bear books.  Her newest book, Bear Can’t Sleep, comes out tomorrow but we are going to get our hands on it today!!  I really love my job!!
