Friday Favorites -10/5/18

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week! We had some fun and I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea to share my favorites from the week.

Favorite 1: THIS WEATHER! We all know my favorite season is Summer. I have recently determined that my second favorite season is Indian Summer.  I am relishing in the sun and warmth this week. However, after doing a little research I found that this isn’t an actual Indian Summer.  An actual Indian Summer is between November 11th and November 20th.  I am pretty sure I’d love this weather then, too!  Either way, I love Summer any time, any place, any variation, always! I’ve been able to run outside a bunch and the boys have been playing outside a ton!

Favorite 2: JEFF!! We celebrated Jeff’s birthday on Wednesday and he deserved it! He is such a great partner, husband, and dad! We had Jeff’s parents and grandmother and my parents over for dinner and cake! Jeff picked everyone’s favorite Reese’s ice cream cake and it was delicious!!

Happy birthday Jeff!

Favorite 3: AUTHOR VISITS!! Our local bookstore and public library welcomed Stuart Gibbs on Tuesday evening. Jack has been reading the first book in the Spy School series so we headed to be a part of his pub day for Spy School Goes South (book 6). We had a great time and I loved watching Jack get so excited about a series. Book 7 in the series comes out in May so Jack challenged himself to read all 6 books before book 7 comes out.  I posted our pictures on Facebook and a friend picked it up for her son already. He’s loving the series, too! I think middle grade readers will love these books!

I always get a photo with an author when I meet them!

Favorite 4: SUNLESS TANNER!! I love a good summer glow! My summer glow is fading quick with all this work time keeping me inside.  I am back to my favorite sunless tanner, Rodan and Fields! I love that stuff! My friend who sells it calls me Magda from Something About Mary because I just can’t get enough. 😂

Favorite 5: TRUMPET! Jack had his first trumpet lesson this week and ha been practicing like crazy! He even announced each one of Jeff’s cards and presents with a little melody!

Favorite 6: GOLF! This summer when the boys were at golf camp, I talked with the junior golf coordinators about bringing their after school golf clinic to our school.  After meeting with my principal and the PTA, it is on!  I was at a meeting on Tuesday so when I came to pick the boys up I was pretty excited to see this van sitting in the parking lot.

Love seeing that Challedon van at school!

Happy Golfers!

The kids had a great time at their first clinic.  They also get free range balls at the golf course so I see a whole lot of golf in our future!

Favorite 7: DINNER CLUB!! We had our first dinner club last weekend. I recapped it on Wednesday. We had the best time! The ladies got to catch up, the guys got to talk, and the kids had a blast!

Cheers to our first dinner club!

Favorite 8: KIDS! We have a courtyard full of turtles at our school. Every morning the kids look for turtles as they are walking to class.  One morning this week, the turtles were doing this:

And so many kids were so confused by what the turtles might be doing.  Their adorable little perplexed faces made me giggle all day long. Of course the obvious answer is “Playing like brothers and sister do. Don’t your and your siblings wrestle around and climb on each other sometimes?” 😂

Favorite 9: STELLA & DOT!! I had a trunk show in August and my friends showed up ready to shop! I have added so many cute things to my jewelry box and I am loving all the new options!

Favorite 10: BARRINGTON! For my birthday, I asked for a new Barrington bag. I was pretty bummed when I went to the website and didn’t see the Christmas Cactus pattern anymore.  I contacted their customer service and was so pleased to hear that it could be special ordered. I sent my mom the screenshot of the bag I created just for fun and she made it happen! I couldn’t be happier!! ❤️

Here are my other Barrington bags (palm fronds – St. Ann & pineapple – St. Ann petite). I love them all!

We are headed to my Alma mater James Madison University for a football game on Saturday and I am so excited.  Just being on that campus makes me smile! I loved every single moment I spent in Harrisonburg, Virginia!!

I am still reading Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. It’s a good book, but I keep falling asleep and need to stop scrolling social media in the evenings.  Hopefully I can make some progress on the ride to and from JMU.

Have a great weekend full of sunshine and books!
