Hello Monday – 9/17/18

Good Monday morning to you all! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We had a bunch of fun and lots of sleep. If you read my post on Friday, I am still very hopeful that this is the week I get back into my routine. The best way is to start it off with this blog right here.  I’m joining Heather, Lindsay, and Johannah to say…

We headed over to Jeff’s school on Friday night for the football game. Jeff’s an athletic director so he works pretty much every Friday night. The boys LOVE going to games with Jeff! I like it, too. This is Jeff’s 17th year at his school so it’s a nice way for me to catch up with his colleagues.

On Saturday morning, I got up and headed to Westminster. My friend Jamie was supposed to do a triathlon at the beach this weekend but it was cancelled.  Jamie was all trained and determined to do it, even if it was indoors. So, I headed to the Y to cheer her on for the swim and part of the bike.  She totally rocked it!!

Later that afternoon, Luke had his first regular season soccer game.  I love to watch my kids play sports, and this game was no exception.  His team came from behind to score a goal in the final minutes. Victory for the Impact!!

Luke made some pretend saves in the goal.

And then he actually got the ball!

After his game, I dashed home and took a quick shower. I was meeting a group from school to go see Gerry Brooks.  He is the principal from Kentucky that talks about funny school things in his car. His videos are all over Facebook and. You Tube.  I was looking forward to a funny evening, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out he was using his humor to talk about school climate and culture.  He had some small, inexpensive ways to make a big difference.  Sunday morning our group text thread was going crazy with all the things we were each doing to implement Gerry’s ideas.  One of the texts said it perfectly, “It takes a village, and our village is shopping today!”

We had a low key, easy Sunday morning. Jack had baseball practice that turned into a scrimmage with the other team in his age group.  3 hours later, he was a very hot and happy boy!

Luke had a buddy over while Jack was at practice and it was wonderful! They played so nicely together and just had fun.

I didn’t get to my run until after dinner. I was a little stressed about it through the day, but I ended up having a great run.

This isn’t really about this weekend, but I have to tell you how much I am loving my new necklaces. I picked up a Sims Stone necklace when Sheaffer had a great discount code on them. I intended to give them as gifts, but I just keep wearing them.  Oops!  I love this necklace and it goes with everything, especially a good cardigan. It may be a bit librarian of me, but I love cardigans. I just feel like they can make every outfit a little bit better.

We have another four day week with Wednesday off for Yom Kippur. The weather forecast looks beautiful and I am hoping to spend as much time outside as possible on Wednesday.

I hope you have a great week full of sunshine and books! I am hoping to finish My Oxford Year this week.  I am really loving it!  I have two advanced reader copies sitting on my kindle waiting for me to read that I am really looking forward to! Going to get back to my reading routine this week.

It is NOT librarian of you to like cardigans! I LOVE cardigans and can’t wait until it isn’t 93 in TN so I can wear mine! I’m a librarian too (middle school). 😂😂😂
