What’s Up Wednesday – 6/27/18

Hello! It’s the last Wednesday of the month so I am linking up with Shay, Sheaffer, and Mel to share what’s up.

WhatsUpWedUpdated

June has been crazy busy but lots of fun with the start of summer!  Here are the questions:

WUWquestions-edit-969x1024

And here are my answers:

WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK…
We have been eating out a bunch lately because I am just getting into official summer mode and our schedule has been crazy!
Saturday: leftovers
Sunday: pizza and salad at the pool
Monday: Dinner at the O’s game
Tuesday: Tacos
Wednesday: something easy before baseball & soccer
Thursday: something easy before baseball
Friday: pizza at the swim team pep rally

WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT…
Jack played in the Drive, Chip, and Putt competition on Friday and this sweet picture of him headed to his first golf camp popped up. So sweet!

Jeff and I were in Spain for our honeymoon in 2006 during the World Cup. It was really fun because Europeans really care about their soccer teams. I always think about our fun times in the Canary Islands and Barcelona during the World Cup.

A few years ago we went to the beach for 2 weeks. It was amazing!  We started a bunch of fun beach traditions, but this one is my favorite.  Breakfast on the beach one morning is a great way to start our day!

WHAT I’M LOVING…
I am loving the slightly slower pace of summer life. Jack has swim team practice at 10:15 and Luke at 11:15 so we have to leave the house by 10.  It has been a frantic rush to get out the door some mornings, but once we are out it is easy breezy for the rest of the day.  Every day I am reading with one boy and running on the track with the other boy. The one on one time has been nice, but some days I am missing my 45 minutes of alone time from last summer’s swim team practices.

I am also loving all the pool time we have! Bedtimes are a little looser so evenings at the pool have been fantastic!

WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO…
We have been spending a lot of time at the pool. Swim team, pool days, and social events are keeping us busy.

Jack is still playing baseball and has 2 games a week. He really loves baseball and has been playing really well!

We went to the Orioles game on Monday night and had a great time.  The O’s were celebrating Christmas because it was 6 months until Christmas (aagghh!!!). The giveaway was a snow globe, they played Christmas music, had snow machines, and were all decked out for Christmas. It was really fun!

WHAT I’M DREADING…
NOTHING!! It’s summer!!!

WHAT I’M WORKING ON…
I am trying to plan out some summer blog posts so that I am not typing away at 8:30 every night.  I am also working on picking out my next Erin Condren teacher planner and life planner. What do you think?

I am starting to think about my yearly plan for next year at school. Don’t worry, I am not actually doing school work, but I am starting to think about how I want it all to go.

I am also working on drinking more water! I was pretty good at it during the school year, but summer is a whole different animal.  I need to get back to my 75-100 ounces a day. I just feel better when I drink more water!

WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT…
We are headed to the PGA Quicken Loans tournament this week. Jack and Jeff are excited to go back and Luke is excited to go to his first golf tournament.  I am also excited for a few upcoming trips we have planned.  We have a few beach trips planned and some educational trips planned too.  I am also pretty excited for unplanned days at the pool with our buddies!

WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING…
I am plowing through my summer beach books and adding more by the minute.  So far I’ve read: Sunburn by Laura Lippman, A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer, The Secret to Southern Charm by Kristy Woodson Harvey, The High Tide Club by Mary Kay Andrews, and The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand. I have to say that I loved all of them!  I highly recommend them to everyone! I am currently reading The Ever After by Sarah Pekkanan and next up is By Invitation Only by Dorothea Benton Frank and Best Beach Ever by Wendy Wax.  I am excited about all 3 of them.

Sarah Pekkanan had so many wonderful things to say about her new book!

I was so excited to meet Dorothea Benton Frank!

I  am not really watching much. I am trying to catch up on the Housewives and Southern Charm. I am also watching lots of O’s games, the College World Series, and the World Cup while I am reading at night.

WHAT I’M LISTENING TO…
We have been listening to my running playlist and the Field Day dance songs a lot while the boys and I are running together.  We are also listening to a bunch of Jimmy Buffett because nothing says summer like Jimmy Buffett!

WHAT I’M WEARING…
I have been wearing my favorite running skirts from Skirt Sports and a flower to fit my mood every morning for my run. After that run, it is bathing suits, comfy clothes, and pjs on repeat.  I got 2 new bathing suits this summer from Title Nine. I got my first catalog, saw a few cute suits and ordered them.  I am thrilled with the suits. They stay put, cover my booty, and have a lot of cute designs.  61A214F1-BF48-452D-818F-798802C5AABA19A21EF3-6A48-4390-A8AA-89C330C1D36D

I am loving this long dress from Nordstrom, thanks to Shay’s and Sheaffer’s recommendation! It was perfectly comfortable at school and on the weekend.

img_8257

I also loved this combination for our pool’s crab feast. We eat at picnic tables so shorts are usually best!

img_8230

This was my original red, white, and blue Preakness outfit, but I never wore it because of the weather. It was perfect for watching my first class of full day kindergarteners graduate from high school this month.

I ordered these on a whim and wasn’t so sure about them. However, when they arrived I instantly fell in love. They are definitely a statement sneaker, but I really love them!!

img_8196

I picked this hat up and love it. It is mesh in the back like a trucker hat but much more relaxed. It is perfect on my head!

img_8207

I keep this shirt in my closet and am never sure about it. I tried it with white pants and I think I finally figured it out. It’s a little bright, but I love bright colors so it’s perfect for me.

WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND…
We have a great summer weekend planned. Jack has a baseball tournament.  Jack and Luke have a swim meet on Saturday.  My mom’s birthday is also Saturday so we will celebrate with her! Our town has a parade and mile run on Sunday afternoon so we may try to go there if Jack’s baseball tournament schedule allows.  I am really looking forward to this weekend!

WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH…
The boys each have a fun camp lined up and they are excited.  We have a lot of unscheduled days ahead of us in July and I love it! We’ll go to the beach, celebrate July 4th with friends, and soak in the sunshine.

WHAT ELSE IS NEW…
I think that is about it for us. For the Parsons, summers are pool days, relaxed evenings, fun with friends, lots of reading, and as much beach as we can!

Have a great day filled with sunshine and books!!
