Hello Monday – 6/25/18

Hello Monday! I am certain today is Monday because Jack has an orthodontist appointment.  Scheduled appointments may be the only way I know what day it is in the summer. 😊 I am linking up with Heather, Lindsay, and Johannah to share our weekend.

Friday’s weather was cold and rainy so Luke and I stayed home for most of the day.  Jack asked to participate in the Drive, Chip, and Putt competition when we were watching The Masters coverage in April.  We were thrilled and signed him up.  The local competition was Friday.  Jack has been practicing and did a great job! He competed as a 10 year old because of where his birthday falls so some of the boys in his age group were a full 2 years older than him.  Jack loved every minute of it and has already asked to do it next year.

Saturday morning was the boys’ first swim meet.  It was chilly with a chance of rain, not ideal swim meet weather, but everyone was excited.  They both swam really well and we were so proud of them!  At the end of season party last year, Jack and Luke got the “Butterfly Brothers” award.  After the meet, we decided that the Butterfly Brothers were officially back!

All of the rainy weather meant tons of time to read! I finished The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand, started and finished A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer, and started The Secret to Southern Charm by Kristy Woodson Harvey.  It has been an ideal reading weekend!

I ❤️ reading a great book by the pool!

I am doing the Summer Challenge by Zooma so I had a long (3-5 mile) run to do this weekend. I have been keeping my streak alive with a lot of 1-2 mile runs so this was a needed challenge.  I chose a hilly park route and took my green flower out for her first run.   Today is day 541 in my streak of running at least 1 mile a day.  I love running but have been lacking a little motivation to go much further than a mile or so. The Zooma Challenge is helping, but I am thinking about signing up for the Charles Street 12 miler. It is a funny distance, why not run another 1.1 miles and get a half-marathon out of it??

On Sunday night I sat down to watch The Beach House on Hallmark. The Beach House is one of my favorite series by Mary Alice Monroe. I think they did a great job adapting the book into a movie, but I always struggle watching a movie when I have read the book.  I visualize so much as I read that movies are such a contradiction to my thoughts. After watching it, I am very excited to read Beach House Reunion! If you like to read series, I highly recommend Mary Alice Monroe’s books! I loved her Beach House series (Book 5 is out now) and her Lowcountry Summer Series. Both are great stories of families!

I started working on my Erin Condren teacher planner and life planner covers this weekend. I love getting a new planner and have my covers narrowed down to these few:

What do you think? Which is your favorite?

Thats it for the weekend. I am looking forward to settling into our summer routine of swim team practice, running, reading, fun at the pool, and easy dinners.  The boys have basketball camp this week. It is just 2 hours each afternoon and they are really looking forward to it! Have a super week full of sunshine and books!

For the first time in six years I got a Happy Planner instead of an EC Teacher Planner…I have to say those covers are so cute. I cannot wait to check out the book series you just shared. I love summer reading. The golf pictures are so cute…my kids have started golfing this summer and they are loving it. Enjoy your week.

Thank you so much for reading The Secret to Southern Charm 💕💕 I am having planner envy right now because I seem to have misplaced mine which is a DISASTER… fingers crossed it will turn up!! I just can’t do the iCal thing 😩 Have a great week! xo

sounds like a fab weekend for all! I haven’t read for a while – I’m one of those overtired people who, whenever she picks up a book, she falls asleep! I started reading Ultramarathon Mom because the author actually asked me if I would read it (and she ran the Marathon des Sables with another Dutch guy that we were hoping to locate here but … alas) and I am also reading (since January *sigh*) My Brilliant Friend which I hope to finish this year…

I’m more of a bullet journal gal, but I LOVE the planner with the tulips!
