Hello and happy Friday! I am so far into summer break mode that I totally forgot today was Friday! So, this is a little later than usual, but I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea for Friday Favorites!
Favorite 1: SUMMER! My kids’ last day of school was Friday, but I had to work a few more hours because media specialists work a few extra days each year. I got up bright and early on Monday and Tuesday so I could be finished by noon on Tuesday. Our pool opens at noon and I didn’t want to miss another day. The rest of the week has been wonderful! I relaxed, went to the pool and eye doctor on Wednesday, started a few projects around the house and went to the pool on Thursday, and have plans to repeat Thursday today (projects and pool).
Favorite 2: READING!! I read a good bit during the school year, but once summer hits I start reading even more. I read in the mornings, read during the day at the pool, and stay up later reading. I finished Dear Carolina by Kristy Woodson Harvey and I gave it 5 big stars on Goodreads. I also finished The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand. I loved it and gave that book 5 stars too. My summer reading is off to a great start! I just started A Nantucket Wedding by Nancy Thayer last night and am excited to see where this family story ends up. I have been reading hardback books, paperback books, and on my Kindle Paperwhite. I have to say I love them all!! **Thanks to Netgalley for my copy of A Perfect Couple.**
Favorite 3: ZOOMA SUMMER CHALLENGE!! I am always great about finding time to fit in a run, but I am not that great at finding time to fit in any other kind of exercise, ever! That’s why I love the Zooma Summer Challenge. Each summer it challenges me to add other exercises to my routine. This summer the challenge calls for yoga, Pilates, barre, swimming, track running, and different strength exercises. I am still running at least a mile every day in addition to those exercises. The beauty of summer is that I have time to do both! It also adds a food challenge each week. The food part includes adding a healthy food or group of foods to your diet. There are a bunch of recipes shared within the group to try new things. This is my third summer doing the challenge and I just love it!
My Summer Challenge tanks from the past two years. 😊
Favorite 4: FUN MAIL DAYS!! Just a few days ago I came home to this on my front porch:
Mail days like these are the best! I got the cutest earrings and bracelet from Stella and Dot (top package).
My middle box is from Fellow Flowers and the bottom is from Prep Obsessed. I love their mystery mailers and their adorable earrings! There may have also been a Lilly delivery and this box on my porch recently!
Favorite 5: OUR POOL!! I love our pool! It is relatively small (only 300 families) but that makes it so much more of a community! The boys do swim team and have so much fun! I love that they can always find someone to play with any day we are there. There are fun social events each month! So far we’ve been to the crab feast, swim team buddies night, and two movie nights for kids. We are looking forward to Slip and Slide water days, Swim Team pep rallies, Mexican Night, Ladies Night, a Guys Night/cornhole competition, and Sip and Dip (a food and beverage tasting night). Our pool may only be open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day, but we squeeze a lot of fun into those 3 months!
Thats it for this week! The boys have their first swim meet of the season tomorrow morning. Jack asked to try the Drive, Chip, and Putt competition and is going today. He’s pretty excited about it! I am planning on getting back to more blogging next week. Hopefully it will help me remember what day it is. 😂
Have a great weekend!!
