Friday Favorites – 4/6/18

Hooray for Friday!! It’s going to be a little warmer here and we have some super fun plans tonight for the kids. I am linking up with Erika, Narci, and Andrea today to share my favorites.

Favorite 1 – Nine Year Olds! Jack turned 9 on Saturday and he was so excited!  He had a fun-over (sleepover with very little sleep) with a few friends from school a few days before his actual birthday.  His actual day was a perfect sporty day for him. He had baseball practice in the morning, played 9 holes of golf with Jeff in the afternoon, and watched the Final 4 at night with the family.  Jack had a great weekend and I am loving his 9 year old self!

This Reese’s ice cream cake is AMAZING!!

Favorite 2 – The Peep Show! Our local arts council puts on a Peep show every year. There are hundreds of artistic entries made out of Peeps.  My mom, the boys, and I have been going for years and then we head down the street to go out to lunch or dinner.  The Peep Show has made national news and usually has lines wrapped around the block at least once.  However, going right after school on a Tuesday was a brilliant move. There was no  line and it wasn’t crowded at all.  Perfect Peeping! The boys each got 4 tokens to vote for their favorites. They asked to take pictures with the ones they voted for.

Favorite 3 – Baseball!  Baseball season is finally upon us and I am so excited! The boys have been playing baseball in the backyard with Jeff, the neighbors, and each other.  Their baseball teams are practicing, when they can because the weather has been TERRIBLE for baseball practice. On Easter Sunday, we went to our first Orioles’ game of the year with my dad.  They O’s were not victorious but we had a great time!

Tough loss for the O’s but we always have a good time at Camden Yards!

Favorite 4 – Outside Running! I love having a treadmill in my basement so I can always run. However, this is about the time that I am ready to get outside to run. It’s been chilly but I have been hitting the track and the pavement for some runs this week.  A little sunshine on my cheeks feels so good!

Favorite 5 – School Library Month! It’s April which means it is School Library Month. I love this month because it gives me an opportunity to promote libraries more than I usually do. I am having fun at school with my reading and book t-shirts and the kids are loving them.  Over the past 3 days they are sparking conversations about books, reading, and visiting the library.  It’s the trifecta of fabulousness!! I am documenting my shirts on Instagram each day. You should take a look @sunnyscp.

Bonus Favorite 6 – JIMMY BUFFETT!! Jeff and I went to Jimmy Buffett with my parents on Friday night and it was AMAZING!! I have seen Jimmy more times that I can count and I love each concert more than the one before! This was an indoor concert and some people may wonder about that but indoor concerts are so much fun. All of the indoor shows I’ve seen have been smaller and more intimate than the outdoor shows.  Don’t get me wrong, outdoor shows in the summer are fantastic. The warm air, stars, and the lawn really add to the Buffett atmosphere. I recommend heading to a show no matter where it is because you are guaranteed a good time!!

Waiting for the show

We had great seats!!!

I danced and sang all night long with this guy!

Unbelievabley, they are calling for snow on Saturday in Maryland. On April 7th!?! I just cannot wrap my head around it.  I’m not letting it slow us down. We have baseball practices, plans to see a local high school play, dinner with my parents, and soccer games planned.  We are also going to watch some Masters coverage this weekend! The Parsons love watching who gets the green jacket each year.

Have a great weekend filled with sunshine and books!
