Hello Monday – 3/26/18

Good morning! We had quite a weekend and I can’t wait to tell you about it! I am joining Johanna, Heather, and Lindsay to say hello to Monday!

We had a very sporty weekend! I started Saturday with 10 miles for my half-marathon training plan.  It was cold but I was not running those miles inside. The run felt great! I chose my /black/ rock star flower and my /dark pink/ worthy flower for the run.  Great reminders that I can do it and I am worth all this energy I am putting into it!

Jack and Luke swam in their first winter swim meet and it was AMAZING!! I am so proud of them for working hard and trying something new.  They have 2 summer seasons under their belt, but only a month and a half of winter swimming. And as a former swimmer, I can tell you winter swim is a whole different ball game! My parents came on Saturday to cheer the boys on! Jack and Luke swam 25 freestyle and 25 breaststroke.  They both exceeded my expectations, and their own I think, for how well the meet would go!

Reading between events! Love it!

After the meet ended, they dashed into their dry clothes and we headed to Jack’s soccer game.  We made a quick, really not that quick, run through a Chick-Fil-A for a very late lunch and made it with a few minutes for Jack to warm up.  He did great and the Strikers won! Woohoo!  Jack had quite the cheering squad because Jeff’s parents and my dad were there for the game.

Then he hopped in the car with a teammate and headed to baseball practice. I know this sounds like a lot, and it sure was, but this was the only swim meet Jack is doing and baseball practice got moved to an indoor facility, #springsnow.

When we got home, Jeff headed out to work. His school’s lacrosse team was featured in a big lacrosse event and he needed to be there.  Luke and I just hung out and vegged while we waited for Jack to get home. Luke’s baseball and soccer were cancelled this weekend because the fields were covered with snow.  He’s hoping to get back out there this week!

When Jack got home we watched some basketball and headed to bed.  We were all tired from our day!

After church, we headed back to the pool for day 2 of the swim meet. Jack was swimming 50 free for the first time and both boys swam 25 back and 25 fly.  Again, they did so well and I am so proud of these boys!

Happy brothers after a successful meet!

After a tasty Mexican lunch we headed home to watch the basketball games.  They have been so exciting this year!!

I am cheering for Loyola-Chicago to win it all now! I love a good underdog story and Sister Jean is the best! 🏀

We have a big week coming up and lots to look forward to – Jimmy Buffett concert, Jack turns 9, Easter, and our 2 day Spring Break. I am still drinking about 100 ounces of water each day and have a new task to add to that with my Zooma Spring Clean Challenge this week.

Have a super Monday filled with sunshine and books!! I am looking forward to a Monday forecast with all sunshine!!! ☀️

My kiddo is a swimmer too! I don’t have any meets down on the calendar thus far though and I think we are OK with that for now. We are also eager readers so your whole theme makes my heart jump! xo
