Hello! I hope your weekend was filled with sunshine, books, and some fun! Mine sure was! I am linking up with Johannah, Heather, and Lindsay to say Hello Monday!
We started our weekend with the culminating activity for our school-wide book club. We read The Mouse and The Motorcycle this year. For our culminating activity, we watched the Runaway Ralph movie with Fred Savage. It was a great 80s flashback for the parents and the kids enjoyed it too. Part of my reading promotion includes wearing T-shirts that promote reading or books, so of course I had a shirt for the night.
Spring sports officially started Saturday morning so our weekend included 2 baseball practices, 1 swim practice, 1 soccer practice, and 1 soccer game. AND I had to figure out a way to get 9 miles in on Saturday. Jeff was away with some other dads that the kids play sports with so the moms teamed up to get kids to practices and get our long runs in. Gotta love that! I broke my run into segments, 3 miles before 1st baseball, 4.5 miles during swim, 1.5 before 2nd baseball. It wasn’t ideal but I made it work.

9 miles – done
Jack is playing travel baseball this year and I think he is going to love it. It was FREEZING cold on Saturday morning but they still practiced. Here are the boys warming up their arms and playing catch before practice started. My friend Erin brought him to me while I was at Luke’s swim team practice and he had the biggest smile on his face after practice! This boy LOVES baseball!!

Go Cardinals!
Luke also started baseball on Saturday. It was still FREEZING and it started flurrying while they were playing. The boys thought it was very cool to play baseball in the snow. He had a great time and can’t wait to be a Muck Dog this year!
After practices we turned the heat on high in the car and headed to my friend Kerry’s house for some St. Patrick’s Day cheer.

I wasn’t officially off duty, but with 3 more moms, 3 more dads, and 5 friends to play with, it was close enough.
She made the best shepherds pie and we had a wonderful time. Hearing the 7 kids giggles and chatter from the basement made my Irish eyes shine! I didn’t take any pictures of the group but we had a very green good time!
Sunday morning started bright and early with soccer practice and a soccer game. We brought some friends home from soccer practice so their mama could get an outside run in. The boys got hungry and lunch prep looked like this.
Jeff met us at Jack’s game and we were all so excited to see him! The sun was shining on the way home and there was a Jimmy Buffett concert on Radio Margaritaville, so it was pretty much a perfect ride home. The kids played golf, basketball, and on the playground with the neighbors when we got home.
I picked up a cute outfit at our local sporting goods store and it was the perfect combo for running around today.
I went grocery shopping for the first time in weeks and we are now ready for the snow ❄️ that is coming later this week. I have to say that I will enjoy every minute of any snow day or delay that we get, but then I am so totally ready for all the sunshine ☀️ and all the warm spring weather! I am hoping this shirt, a Fellow Flowers favorite, encourages the sun to keep shining!
Here’s hoping that our week is full of books and sunshine, even if we have a little snow.
